Timeframe for peer refereeing

Our Group will negotiate the time frame for completion with each referee. The average length of time for a full peer review process is 3 weeks for a Protocol and up to 6 weeks for a Review however this varies depending on the number of available referees and the size of the Review.

Cochrane's peer-review policy follows a named peer-review process (i.e. open identity peer review). Each peer reviewer has the option to view the Protocol or Review a second time to see the amendments that the authors have made in relation to the peer-review comments.
