What's involved in doing a Cochrane (systematic) Review?

The process involves 3 main steps:

1. Formulating and submitting details of a proposed topic through Editorial Manager. Before submitting a proposed topic, please check that the topic does not overlap with our registered Titles, Protocols or Reviews.

If you are interesting in submitting a proposal to the Cochrane Breast Cancer Group, please log in to Editorial Manager and select 'Submit New Manuscript'. For further information, see our instructions for authors on submitting new proposals. If the senior editors are interested in your initial proposal, we will invite you to submit a full proposal via an online form within Editorial Manager.

If the full proposal is viewed favourably and accepted by the senior editors and international editorial board, the topic will be registered in the Cochrane Library. The Cochrane Breast Cancer Group accepts topics covering interventions, prognosis studies and diagnostic test accuracy reviews.

2. Formulating and publishing a Protocol in the Cochrane Library

3. Formulating and publishing a Review and updating the Review in the Cochrane Library
